Farzad Jodat Images of the heart…

Born in 1957, Farzad Jodat grew up in Tehran where he worked with his brother as a professional photographer. He later trained in the IRIB media university and began work for the Iranian television. He worked as cinematographer on a number of Iranian films including Through the Olive Trees by Abbas Kiarostami and began work as a Director of Photography in The White Baloon, also Jafar Panahi’s highly successful debut feature and his equally successful The Mirror. Jodat teamed up with Babak Payami through an introduction by Jafar Panahi and Parviz Shahbazi and collaborated with him on all three films Payami made in Iran. Along his work as director of photography, Farzad Jodat teaches in the same school where he himself received formal training.
